October 2009: Conserve your conservatory with Furniture Medic

Q: I recently hosted a party to celebrate the completion of my new conservatory. To my horror, the next day I discovered a cigarette burn mark on the inside window ledge, which is UPVC. Is there any way to cover or repair the damage?

A: Unfortunately there is not much you can do yourself, apart from perhaps a strategically placed vase of flowers.

Your local Furniture Medic, however, can repair damage to UPVC, whether it is a door, window frame or conservatory; they will repair chips, scratches and burn marks and can even fix wood effect finishes. As one of the UK’s leading furniture repair and restoration services, they will come out to assess the damage and offer a quote free of charge, before carrying out the repair.

To repair the burn mark the technician will use a specialised kit, first to remove the obvious damage from the area, for example the burnt and blackened UPVC, then using a unique colour matched repair compound they will fill in the damaged area and create an almost invisible repair. Repairs to UPVC start from £50.
